Word came in this morning via Gallifrey One that the BBC has just named the Companion for the 11th Doctor next year - 21-year-old Karen Gillan. From the release, these words from new show-runner Stephen Moffat:"We saw some amazing actresses for this part, but when Karen came through the door the game was up. Funny, and clever, and gorgeous, and sexy. Or Scottish, which is the quick way of saying it. A generation of little girls will want to be her. And a generation of little boys will want them to be her too."
I'll be the first to say it: Okay, yeah, I can see a bit of the ol' Rose in her. But ye gods, this is gonna be a pair of young'uns. Cue the Doctor Twilight jokes!
